Food allergies affect millions of people around the world, and yet, there are still many

misconceptions and myths surrounding them. I want to tackle some of the most common food

allergy myths and provide accurate information to help you better understand these conditions.

Myth #1 Food allergies and intolerances/sensitivities are the same.


Myth #2 It’s ok to use antihistamines (Benadryl first-line) when someone has a food allergy reaction and then wait to see if they “really” need epinephrine.
